Frank Hughes of EXT came to me with a full re-branding of the company. He had specific needs, he wanted the logo to be highly visible and simple, so that people passing in cars could see who was carrying out the road signage installations very quickly. He also had colour requirements, his vans were yellow and he needed the logo to sit easily on them.
The solution was simple, black and yellow work perfectly together and are extremely visible. I used a solid typeface, with a block like appearance so the letters were clean, simple and easy to read. I played around with arrow ideas to relate to signage symbols, and came up with the simple break in the “X”. The result was a professional, well designed and highly recognisable logo.
